Witeklab Clinometer

Precise tilt measurement system with high-precision MEMS electronics and radio communications
Request information
Witeklab Clinometer is an advanced geotechnical, structural, and infrastructure monitoring system that combines high-precision tilt sensors with IoT telemetry for continuous monitoring. Developed jointly with experts from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Witeklab’s MEMS sensor improves upon the performance of existing equipment by measuring angular variations or tilt relative to an XY plane with extremely high accuracy. This allows for the early and real-time detection of ground movements, deformations, or displacements in all types of civil and geotechnical applications.

Advanced technology for motion control

Witeklab’s clinometer uses triaxial MEMS (microelectromechanical systems) sensors to measure static acceleration due to gravity. By detecting the components of the gravity vector along orthogonal axes, the system automatically calculates the tilt angle relative to the reference plane using a combination of MEMS and an optimized algorithm.

Maximum resolution with thermal self-calibration

One of the key distinguishing features of the Witeklab Clinometer is its extremely high resolution (from 0.001 to 0.005º), combined with an advanced self-calibration algorithm and compensation for possible thermal effects. This ensures that the variations recorded correspond exclusively to actual movements of the structure and not to fluctuations in ambient temperature, making it ideal for outdoor monitoring and exposed structures.

Data automation with cloud deployment

Unlike a conventional inclinometer, our tilt measurement system doesn’t just collect data on the device itself; it automates the entire monitoring process. By integrating radio communications and cloud services, the Witeklab Clinometer enables continuous, remote, and real-time monitoring, eliminating the need for manual readings and facilitating the activation of automatic alarms.

For monitoring one or multiple points, the device incorporates a system for sending information to the cloud using long-range wireless communication protocols (WiFi or LoRa). A central station uploads the data to the server for continuous monitoring.

Web interface for centralized management

The operation of Witeklab Clinometer is automatically controlled through the Witeklab web platform. This powerful online tool allows users to:
P
Configure the sampling intervals (from 1 to 10 minutes) and the duration of data acquisition.
P
Set security thresholds and configure the creation of automated alarms.
P
Visualize results, analyze metrics, and graphically consult the historical record.
P
Export measurement reports and download data in raw format (CSV or compatible), stored in metric units such as degrees, milliradians, or millimeters.
